Wealth is a consequence, not a reward #6
I often find this interesting how many people think that wealth is a reward. It didn’t take me a lot to understand that wealth is a consequence, not a reward!
If you work hard at making money, you stand a better chance of becoming rich. You have to accept that money is a payment given to you for clever thinking and/or hard work. Some work smarter, others work harder but the harder and smarter you work, the more money you’ll earn.
You don’t get your money by a committee who would examine whether you have been good enough or not, whether you deserve it or not. You’re hard work consequence is what you earn. The smarter, harder you work the more you earn.
We analyze those who have money and often make all sorts of judgments about whether they deserve it or not. I work hard to run this blog and I think that running online gambling sites and adult sites in an unethical way to earn money, but look at Calvin Ayre for example who has grown very rich indeed running online gambling. He has over 16 million customers in the US alone. Of course the Department of Justice isn’t very happy about this would like to shout him down, but Ayre isn’t a US citizen. (You can read about him on the www.Forbes.com)
The interesting is that this guy worked smart to find a loophole in the US law and used it for his benefit. Running a gambling site is illegal in US, but he doesn’t live in US so he didn’t commit any crime. I don’t agree with his ethics and how he earned his money, but the consequence of his hard/smart work brought him lots of money.
I have a friend who owns a body shop where he cleans and polishes expensive cars. He charges a LOT for car washing and polishing. Much more than maybe 20 different body shops together, it amazes me that people would pay him that amount. But he works hard, uses the best products, pays careful attention to does expensive cars, has a very modern body shop. Now is his money a reward or consequence? I know he wouldn’t see it as a reward. It’s the price he sets and his customers pay him because he is the best (or at least he is able to sell himself as the best).
The consequence of his business idea, skills and effort is very well paid.
You and I can have good ideas too, but without hard work we will not see the results. When I first started blogging after my idea of helping others understand more about their personal finances, I had to put a lot of work, research and learn new tasks to be able to deliver these articles on my blog. I had to learn all about SEO, marketing and much more to grow my business. When today I reap my pay for my hard work, trust me I don’t feel like is a reward, it’s the consequence of my willingness to work hard.
To be wealthy you have to understand that you have to work hard and/or smart and the consequence of your effort will be visible and touchable.
