About

I live in the Greater Toronto Area. I am in my mid thirties, happily married and mother of three good looking boys.

I am debt reduction champion with a passion for showing individuals how to budget. You will find good quality information about personal finance and related topics. I share stories about debt elimination, insurance, saving money, and practical investing. I believe that if people share their experiences with the financial institution, we’ll be able to strengthen as a community. I will share information about the Canadian financial industry that Canadian individual can use to help them with financial planning.

I/ we as a couple have made almost every major money mistake out there. I ran up credit card debt, car loan, trashed my credit. When it finally became too overwhelming, I began reading financial literature hoping to find answers. I wanted swift solutions to my problems.

My research revealed that few people get rich quickly, but almost anyone can get rich slowly by patiently following some simple rules. This was the time when I decided to get involved in the financial industry. I/ we made many mistakes by lacking the right information, so my first objective when I started my carrier in the financial field was learning de insides so I will be able to make the right choices. As I learned more I realized that the masses are lacking the right info.

Unfortunately, the financial industry is very self-serving and places their own interests before those of the investors. There are inside secrets what the financial industry doesn’t want to expose to it’s clients as in many instances what is sold as the “clients best” may not be the client but the banks, insurance companies and financial institutions best.

Often products are sold without making sure that the client really understands the benefits and the disadvantage at the same time. The “benefits” are sold, but not knowing the other side of the coin can really hurt and cost you a lot. There are financial products which I will NOT offer you as most often they have more disadvantages then real benefits.

I have no problem with those people who are in total knowledge about what they own, they know the good and the bad and then they purposely choose that specific product. My experience whatever is that  over and over again I meet clients who have no idea what they own, how that product works and after they are exposed to the whole picture they realized they been ripped off. That absolutely aggravates me, as I think trading on someone’s ignorance is selfishness.

I currently work in the finance industry providing financial advice. I help people make better financial choices while still working, and help those who are preparing for retirement to establish a plan that will provide the lifestyle they need to live with dignity. I take an educational approach to help people understand about their financial plan and the financial products they have work for their best.

If I would say that is not my intention to garner new business for my practice through this blog, you know it would be false as anyone who works in this field looks for an opportunity to expand its client base. However I am one of those who is not working for the commission only as I have a great hubby who is a great provider and really for me this is a passion to educate as many as possible so people don’t have to go through the struggle we went thru for some years.

There are readers who contact me for professional help if they feel they need the help of an advisor and many readers who are self-sufficient have referred their friends. That is fine, and I welcome it, but you are free to read without feeling like you owe me anything at all.

Someone once told me:” I’ve have a good job with a good salary for a few years, but my finances aren’t looking as good as I hoped they would by now. I’ve started saving retirement through my work’s RRSP plan, but I am not taking advantage of any independent RRSP or other investments. I have some credit card debt, and no savings to speak of. Simply put – my debt is keeping me from building wealth.

But I’m tired of debt. I should be building wealth now, but instead I’m stuck paying bills. I don’t want to just break even – I want to sprint ahead. Not crawl along, like I’m doing now.”

I know this feeling and I know there is a way out. Many people are very concerned about the state of their finances and they are not sure where to start to repair the damage or to help a good situation become better. You don’t get in trouble over night but you will not get out of trouble over night. However it’s possible to turn any financial situation around! You just need a plan and a commitment to work out the plan. This is why I decided to have this blog so that you will have the knowledge needed to make the right choices.
